I really don't understand why I'm finding #Cloudpunk so compelling. The writing and voice acting is pretty mid. It's entire mechanic is basically fetch quests. The environment can feel a little repetitive. And yet, hopping in my HOVA and flying around Nivalis, or popping out and hunting for punch cards, is somehow so chill and satisfying. Maybe it's the cool visuals or the synthwave soundtrack... I dunno. It's a pleasant mystery to me. And did I mention it plays great on the #SteamDeck? #gaming

Okay. Maybe it's not Firefox. Maybe Cloudpunk is just weirdly intermittent in what framerate it runs at.

Two runs with Firefox: Slow and chuggy.
Run without Firefox: Slow and chuggy.
Quit Steam and run again: Fractionally less slow.
Quit Steam. Start Steam. Run from within steam. 60fps!
Continue playing. Go through a few areas: Suddenly drops to 20fps.

Oh, and yesterday, the map was lightning fast, whereas before it was always slow (even when the main game was fast)

🤷

I finished both #Lake and #Cloudpunk. In both games, you play a female character who is new to the job of delivering packages and gets to know people and their stories through her work. Despite the same premise, the games are completely different. This is neither a revelation nor a surprise, but just nice to see the different possibilities video games can offer. It just made me smile. — #ShareYourGames #Gaming

This gorgeous Blade Runner-inspired artwork is the opening of video game #Cloudpunk, and is often used to advertise the game. Game play is fun, but is nothing like this artwork visually; in reality the game so very highly pixelated that it looks like #Minecraft... not at all like the opening artwork. As much as I enjoy the game, I still feel a bit ripped off.
