I don't know whether virtual shifting on #zwift is good, useful, or bad, but the upgrade kit is on sale for $9.99 with the code TOUR2025. Originally, it was priced at $80, recently at $60.

My #SummerSolstice run was done in a snowy wonderland via #Zwift: group 5K run pace 8’02”/mi. Got carried away by competitive runners at the end so peaked at 6’20”/mi with max HR 162bpm.
But outside the weather was actually not too bad: drizzle with temperature 59F (15C).
FIT files record the activities of people using devices such as sports watches and bike head units. Platforms such as #Strava and #Zwift understand this now quasi-standard format. So does #Perl! Here I discuss how to parse FIT files and calculate some basic statistics from the extracted data.

Oh I'd love to have a Zwift specific setup. Use my old alloy Specialized Allez, slap a Zwift Cog on it, add the Zwift Player shifters, and get the Quick-Axle adapter for the Suito.
In theory it should work, and then I can stop fussing around with different cassettes and cable tension and what-not :D
Most companies are enshittifying their products and deliberately not supporting them long-term, to force consumers to buy the latest releases.
The Italian bike company "Elite“ just did the opposite!!
They have released a firmware update for their smart trainers to enable the Zwift Cog on models that are as old as the first gen Suito released in 2019!!
It had been rumoured since last year, and it's real! Can't wait to try it #zwift #cycling #BikeTooter

Looking at the mac Mini M4 as a replacement for my 'non-upgradeable' windows laptop for #Zwift
What do you think?

Another reason to ride on #Zwift in the garage!
Black bear sightings will become more common in Missouri
Is it time to change to shorter crank length on my KICKR Bike trainer?
I'm a dimunitive 68 inches, 31 inch inseam. Previously at 172.5.
I'm going to sneak it down to 165 to see what happens
I mainly scroll the internet and YouTube and do some very mild document/spreadsheet work so #Ubuntu has been working great for me for the last decade or so.
I still have an older Windows laptop for #Zwift, my virtual cycling application because I'm not brave enough to figure out how to get it running on #Linux.
Nothing but #Zwift this weekend - over 2 inches of rain predicted for Saturday and Sunday
I've got an Android app that I use to connect #Zwift to my treadmill so I can run the hills. I have learned to kill the app immediately after the run, else it will eat the battery! I think it is probably screaming #Bluetooth into the void.
First virtual run on my own treadmill!

icTrainer » Just Train - No Game
Watching college basketball made today’s 2.5 hour trainer ride on #zwift go by a lot faster. It was the first time I’d ever completed the Ventoux climb, and it is no joke.
Just cancelled my #rouvy subscription with the weather getting slightly warmer. It required 3 pages of scrolling down endless bullshit to cancel, and I had to add comments and other input on almost every page. Thanks for that friction Rouvy, it will probably be the reason I don't return in the fall. I didn't hate the platform but they're not so good I wouldn't try out a competitor instead. #Zwift and Rouvy were basically the same boring BS. #cycling
I've been using Zwift for quite a few years, but this week decided to try some of the interval trainer rides. They're very enjoyable and I like how they regulate the resistance of the turbo trainer to make sure you are doing a certain power... but I'm a bit confused about how to handle the transitions.
In this one there was a drop from 210 watts to a rest period of 100 watts and it's shouting at me to pedal slower, but I'm basically just free wheeling because the turbo has turned the resistance down to zero. Then Zwift seemed to get confused and think I had stopped entirely.
I'm probably just doing something wrong but I don't really know what.
Also I am finding these a bit too easy. I would rather the higher efforts be 300+ watts, since they're only short. Does that increase the more you use them?
It's been a while since I achieved a major milestone with #Zwift, so it feels pretty good to share that I just hit a 52 week streak!
Zwift refuses to change resistance of my smart trainer. So I used a workaround to get virtual ride kilometers while doing workouts.
My bike computer can adjust the resistance of said trainer, while doing a workout.
Re-creating the Zwift workout for my bike computer. Connect Zwift only to the power sensor of the trainer via bluetooth and connect my bike computer via Ant+ to the dynamic resistance thingie.
Then I do my best to start both workouts at the same time.
Profit!
