I wanted to bake something that was quick, easy, involved very few dishes, and was tasty and chocolaty. I made the peanut butter blossom bars from the Betty Crocker website! They're currently cooling. I can't wait to eat them!

I've been having the hardest time with various kinds of bars the last couple times I made them, but these worked perfectly. If they're as tasty as they look I'll be making them again for sure.

My mom requested chewy oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. After consulting the Cookie Companion I made these. They spread quite a bit, but they are chewy and quite tasty. I might give this recipe another shot. It had so many ingredients though. I feel like you could achieve the same thing with fewer ingredients.

Merry Christmas all!

Back in the day (like 15 years ago), Google had a cafe named "5ive" whose dishes used no more that 5 major ingredients--it was a focus on simpler dishes made well and it was really wonderful. But folks would head over there from all over campus to get their chocolate chip cookies--they were just that good..
