#PennedPossibilities 665 — Tell us what smells remind your MC of their childhood.

Let's start off easy. When Alexios thinks of his childhood, he's reminded of the smells of freshly baked goods wafting kitchen windows, the salty sea air, and nature during the various seasons. He misses those days more than he could ever put into words. He longs for /home/, but the memories alone are all that he has left of it. If he ever smells any of the things listed, his heart will ache for days on end. It's a bittersweet thing. The reminder is nice, at least for a little while, until the heartache settles in.

Here's the next chapter, #WritingCommunity. If you're looking for an original tale that's #SFF with #cyberpunk themes and #romance, I've got you covered. This is a #LGBT+ / #LGBTQIA+ story as well. Also, on another note, life has been too insane lately, and I'm sorry for taking ages to update this story. It feels good to be back.

Welcome to #TheCityOfOpulence. 🌃

The journey from one home to another is a treacherous one.

The first version of my Operating Superstars story chapters page to mirror the chapters has been published!

Since the launch of Version 2, the chapters were only hosted on my Wordpress blog but I’m going to move forward with continuing the stories on Neocities after this page is caught up.

I’ve been working on this for the past week or so I’ve had the time to write, and hosting this on Neocities is a throwback to what I intended with Version 1 had it launched.

I’m up to chapter 6 of "I Was a Software Developer…" mirrored. As I went through these chapters again, there were some changes I made due to #Worldbuilding and continuity details that changed with Version 3. The wiki will also be updated with these changes.

One of our interview series for this week's archive article - from when we sat down with Aure, indie game writer and developer of the Roadwarden and Tales from Windy Meadow. Exploring how he created his Viaticum setting and the themes in his work was hugely interesting for us, and might be for you too!

#PennedPossibilities 663 — How do your characters strive to progress, thrive, and better themselves in a positive way?

The core group of the gang are all trying to make ends meet in such a cruel world. It's why they're in a gang in the first place. One has to survive, after all. In the process, they found their /family/, and family isn't always blood. That's a lesson behind the series.

They want to better themselves in any possibly way. They want to live, to flourish and advance in society, but also become better people. Everyone has their struggles, such is life, but I'd like to think that they become much better people by the end of this book series. Our characters heal and grow, learning /together/ and making their way through the struggles with friends at their sides. The bond is strong.

Everyone wants to change. To remain stagnant is a step backwards. Even attempting to grow is a step forward, and a step in the right direction.

Every space opera setting needs a map, and My WORLDS OF THE PACT, cannot be an exception.
(Also, at this point, I need a map to keep things consistent)

This is still a work in progress; I'm not sure about how big the whole thing should be. It's soft #SciFi but that is still A LOT of space, even if the number of habitable worlds in each might not be that big.

Progress still continues with mirroring the story chapters I published so far to Neocities and I hope to publish the first few chapters soon, but it’s been slow because of how busy I’ve been the past few days and how much I needed to rest.

Copying them over from the blog led me to look over the details again in each chapter of “I Was a Software Developer…” and look again for inconsistencies to correct, and #Worldbuilding details to add to to articles on my wiki.

I updated the Techlandia article with some of those details I found by looking through early chapters. As of writing this, I just finished looking through chapter 5.

Mirroring the chapters isn’t hard per se, but it’s so tedious needing to manually add every set of paragraph tags for every paragraph 😬
