#writersCoffeeClub 12/4: How would you write a story with a cast of one? Could you?
It’s not hard to think of various setups. There’s a section in my WIP where one character is shipwrecked and has to make his way alone across a lonely island. But it’s only there in the greater story because he’s telling the tale to two others. That, for me, is the interesting part; there’s still an interplay between characters.
I could write a solo story, but would I want to?

#WordWeavers 12/4: MC POV: Name three dangers that exist in your world. How do you protect yourself from them?
Jerya: poverty, enslavement, disease. And, no surprise, they’re all linked. Can’t tackle one in isolation.
I’m well protected personally. Marrying an Earl is a good way to do that. But I couldn’t live with myself if I wasn’t doing everything I could to tackle the problems.

The new place I am at is very homey.

Basically just a giant house they converted into a care facility so it feels more like just being at home.

I could get used to this place, and the food is better too honestly.

Guess almost dying of lung infection was actually a net positive, and I can relax for a bit and get things set up slowly.

Also really nice to have a shower, hospitals suck and I start feeling dirty after a while.

Just had a skin searing hot one, the best kind :D

#WordWeavers 2504.11 — Could your SC do your job?

I'm retired. Pretty much any of them could do that. To the extent that the main series antagonist is also a secondary character, getting to be retired is the WHOLE POINT of her existence from her point of view!

Yay!

I am leaving the hospital today finally.

Going to a new place is always scary for me though. I am going to a different, but similar facility to where I was staying before.

Hopefully it isn't a total mess, but I don't think anything could be worse than Soul Housing, which put me in the hospital.

Then I have a reference for more permanent housing later, just need to call even if it is awful.

My #health is MUCH better, that will be my shield no matter what happens.

I finally got around to notifying the NZ Society of Authors and the publisher that one of my books is in the LibGen database used by Meta without authorisation to train its AI. Some journal articles I wrote are also in the database. I am no fan of AI, and I have a strong aversion to Meta, so I am VERY cross about this 😡
