I am working on scheduled update 2024-03 for (gnu guix astronomy), most of it is #python #astropy #jwst related packages.
It would be nice to have https://yt-project.org/

The package is ready and I might include it in the upcoming update.
I'm grateful to all the developers of the different open source software I use in the image capture and processing.
New bio !
This week was my last as a researcher, and starting tomorrow I'll work as a contractual research software engineer for the #Astropy project !
I am thrilled about onboarding this thriving community and excited that fixing bugs is now my job instead a distraction from it !
It's sprint day of #SciPy2023! Fun with teams #xarray and #astropy so far. Now, post-lunch, we're ready for round two.
As always, stop by if you're in interested in the remaining swag.
#Astropy 5.2 was released a few days ago. I contributed to a couple of new functions that allow to draw the beam and a physical scale on celestial maps. These should be useful if you use Astropy to plot #ALMA observations. #Python #OpenSource #Astrodon https://docs.astropy.org/en/stable/whatsnew/5.2.html#drawing-the-instrument-beam-and-a-physical-scale-bar-on-celestial-images
Hello #fediverse! Time for an #introduction
poliastro is an #opensource (MIT) pure #Python library for interactive #Astrodynamics and #OrbitalMechanics. It provides a simple and intuitive API, it's fast thanks to #numba, and it handles physical quantities with units thanks to #Astropy.
