Can you imagine if the TV show Moonlighting were on today? It would be unbearable. You would hear about it until you wanted to wanted to jab your eyes out. Tension on the set. Will they? Won't they? Should they? Shouldn't they? Did they? After the B&W episode there'd be 18 million articles on how the show takes itself too seriously.

It would be like if Ted Lasso starred the Kardashians.

Pain caused you to make choices.

You may look back at those choices and regret them because it's not the choice that you would make now.

Can you see what that alone is showing you?

It's showing you growth, healing, understanding, and the opportunity for acceptance.

You can recognize the pain of that younger version of you. You can see that they made choices based on that pain. You can recognize that you no longer need to make those choices the same way because you're not in that pain anymore.

That's what we call healing and learning.

Don't beat yourself up for not knowing what you didn't know when you didn't know it.

You know how you make up for crappy past choices?

By making better choices from where you are now.

You can let the past go, by simply accepting that you can do better in the future.

You can't change the past. It's done.

You can only change what you do from here and when you know better, you do better.

That's good enough.

Love to all.

Someone just sent me this picture of me as a teenager, with my cousin. Yes, those are JNCOs. Yes, that's a bowl cut. I guess at some point I actually cared about fashion trends. Now, I wear the same thing everyday, give or take.

When this was taken, I was living in a trailer park, with a father on pizza man/drug dealer wages. No one bought the JNCOs. That's just how things were then.

Man, how life can change with 30 years of trying.
