Since I made all these block prints of Ontario food crops helped by insects for my upcoming show, I thought I would use them to make some repeat patterns too! You can find these ‘Harvest’ print patterns on fabric or wallpaper in my Spoonflower shop.

They include cranberry, eggplant, green bean, apricot, field cucumber, blueberries (both low and high bush), gooseberry, plum, raspberry, pole bean, haskap, pumpkin, 🧵

Heyyyy mastodon!

It’s time for a snapshot #introduction of me, and how I'm hoping to contribute to this platform

My name is Cassie and I run a Philadelphia based community craft and art group. The group started 9 years ago on another well known platform and over the years it stopped serving our purposes. My hope is that this space can help connect our local community and inspire others to follow suit.

I prefer she/her and they/them pronouns and I default to using they/them pronouns with new people that don’t specify a preference.

I'm an #artist, #crafter, #organizer, and #designer. In order of most experienced to least, I utilize and teach the following skills: #leatherwork #accessorydesign #handembroidery #chainstitchembroidery #basketweaving #handbuildingclay #bookmaking #printing #surfacedesign #naturaldyeing #felting #spinningyarn #painting #drawing

I like to create, I have a love of aquatic fish, mushrooms, bugs, bones, prismatic colors, texture, line work, anything tufted, and gin is the way to my heart.

I look forward to sharing my creations and offering support with questions about any skillsets that I am able!

The current Spoonflower challenge theme was a wallpaper "that would look lovely as a backsplash behind a sink in the kitchen or in a bathroom", and I tried to create something that would work in both places. Did I succeed?

Voting ends soon - if you like my entry, I'd appreciate your vote (no need to register an account, just follow the link): spoonflower.com/design-challen

Today's Textile Talk (free, Zoom, July 31, 2pm Eastern): Interplay: Limitless Connections with Rena Wood, Lyndsi Schuesler, Ji Young Kim, juror Annet Couwenberg, and moderator Nora McGinnis. Surface Design Association.

"Celebrate three exhibitions highlighting the very best contemporary fiber art. We’ll hear from Interplay award winners and juror." (It's a curated exhibit, I think?)

It’s always so weird to think about holiday stuff in the heat of the summer but I thought I would make a “12 days of Christmas” pattern for the Spoonflower Winter Holiday Patchwork Challenge. Part of me thought of making a slightly sinister Yuletide pattern but I was pretty sure that wasn’t what they were after. Made with my 12 linocut prints for every gift mentioned in the carol in a quilt pattern.

I've been working on more fabric designs - this group has shapes and colours from my abstracted forest fire paintings. I posted them to Spoonflower (spoonflower.com/profiles/kamin) for individual orders while I wait on getting in a bulk order for my own project. I'm thinking linen. I just want to stare at vibrant colours after all this interminal snow.
