Don’t know if anyone else has encountered this, but programmatically changing a UISlider value appears to generate a UIControlEventTouchUpInside event under iOS 26, which seems very wrong.

I’ve filed a radar (FB19116966), but would be surprised if no one else has seen this. 🤔

Another #ios26 feature I’m loving is Spatial Scenes, where it takes a 2D photo and 3D-ifies it.

I first noticed it in the photos widget on my Home Screen, I tilted my phone and the background of the photo moved, I could see behind the people in the photo! It’s really well done, the only time I’ve noticed any weird artefacts is in a pic of our cat Diego.

I noticed something odd with iOS 26 and the sheet I'm using to display my paywall.

The only thing in it is a cancel button but the text is getting clipped. Happens also if I use .topBarLeading.

If I remove the placement the word cancel is shown just fine but the placement moves to the top right. 🤔

Oh Jesus “AutoMix” in the #iOS26 Music app could almost tempt me back from PlexAmp… and it works over AirPlay (crossfade in iOS 18 didn’t)!

PlexAmp’s “sweet fades” are great, but this is another level. I think PlexAmp matches the volume levels of the end of the current song and the start of the next one so they overlap at an appropriate point, you don’t miss a big finish or a sudden start like you do with a dumb crossfade, it sounds great.

AutoMix does that but with knobs on: it does fancy effects like adjusting the tempo to make it even more seamless. I love it!

It did miss a big chunk off the beginning or end of a couple of songs, and I noticed some skips and pauses which I presume are related to it figuring out what it’s going to do for the transition. But it’s beta software, I’m gonna give it some leeway.

Instead of trying to change the colour of the icons and text in the glass buttons depending on the background, Apple should just keep them black in light mode and white in dark mode, and change the opacity of the glass itself to ensure they remain legible. I hope it will actually be usable without having to wait until iOS 29 as with the previous redesign…
