@jon Regulation can work while simultaneously building permissionless #freedomtech that defeats surveillance techniques like #fingerprinting. I love the work #HydraVeil and #Nym are doing in this regard.
Consider using JShelter to mitigate potential threats such as browser fingerprinting.
WARNING
New research provides evidence of online tracking via browser fingerprints.

Scientific study finds that #adtech IS using browser #fingerprinting to track people and so it no longer matters so much how good you are at blocking #cookies and #trackers

They call on browser makers to do more. @jon is your team putting effort into this area?
@johnnyryan I suggest this area is added to your investigations since it is linked to the #RTB system and #databrokers
10 Browser Security Myths You Need to Stop Believing
@leberschnitzel shure. Take your time.
Espechally since #JavaScript gets universally blocked by users of @torproject / #TorBrowser like myself simply because every single piece of #JS I came across was not "technically necessary" if not outright #malware designed to do #Cryptojacking, #BrowserFingerprinting and/or steal logins.

Another Forum that has implemented good Anti-DDoS seems to be BreachForums
One does have to admit they are able to do #DDoS-#protection w/o value-removing middlemen, #JavaScript and #BrowserFingerprinting…
@jbz this is why using @torproject / #TorBrowser is my main recommendation.
@oblomov My initial gut reaction was the same. And I still think it may be wise to opt out of this experiment until it is better understood.
But what if this initiative could indeed serve as a privacy-preserving replacement for #tracking? It looks better than all the terrible ideas Google came up with to replace cookies (#FLoC #PrivacySandbox #TopicsAPI) let alone #browserFingerprinting.
Here is my take on Mozilla's #privacyPreservingAttribution aka #privateAttribution: https://suma-ev.social/@christian/112761712837712799
@fen @elilla #Microsoft demanding #TPM only serves them to force #CensorBoot into systems and prevent people from switching to #Linux or setting up #DualBoot systems.
In terms of #BrowserFingerprinting: Use @torproject / #TorBrowser to give #Google the finger!

Account #isolation #security (continues)
Account isolation doesn’t just have to be on the device level, but can also be done on the software level like the #browser.
The benefit of using multiple browsers is that #cookies cannot cross browsers: making the pesky #trackers be browser bound and making browser fingerprinting harder to achieve. This will give oneself an edge on personal data protection.
Some browsers have the option to use containers, though it can feel like the overview is quickly lost and potentially it could be a bigger strain on the device.
Browser suggestions:
One should choose the browser dependent on the login credentials one will be using. For example if one will be using Google services like #Gmail or #YouTube, then the obvious choice is Chrome.
@kreig In case anyone comes to this thread and wonders why you need to protect your hedgehog status or screen density, be sure to read to up on Browser Fingerprinting.
This sort of trackability isn’t obvious at first, as it would require so much data about so many people at once to be useful. But, yeah, they have that.
Using Firefox with privacy.resistFingerPrinting turned on. Living on the edge!
