ok, so a thing I've noticed with these random 10 to 18 hour sleeping sessions is that reality feels wrong afterward.

Like, I think existing -- the conscious experience of feeling and reacting to sensations or sensory inputs from your body (and mind, which is somehow perceived as different for no reason 🙄) --
is a habit.

You have to be in the flow or familiar with how existing feels. Otherwise it's unusual or unfamiliar.

This feels tautological af, but whatever. Allistic people need sad music to know a scene is "supposed to be" sad, so maybe this does bear clarification.

#Constructivism vs #Realism - Would you rather have the red pill or the blue pill?”

“This is your last chance. There's no turning back after this. Take the blue pill: the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. Take the red pill: you stay here in Wonderland and I'll show you how deep the rabbit hole goes.” (Film quote from “Morpheus” from “Matrix 1”)

Abstract

The following essay has actually been planned for some time and comes from the series “How much #construction does #reality contain?”, which I had already introduced with the older text “Realists vs. nominalists - or the old dualism ‘thinking vs. language’.

In the following, I would like to fulfill my promise and try to close the still missing, fundamental gap in the relationship between “constructivism vs. realism” in relation to our “#consciousness”.

But before I can offer you the “blue or red pill” to “expand your consciousness” from the movie “#Matrix”, I first need a few basic “medicines”. What the whole thing has to do with the movie “Matrix” will hopefully become clear below.

But first, as from another thematically similar movie “#Alice in Wonderland”, you would first have to follow me down the aforementioned “rabbit hole” so that the separation between “constructivism vs. realism” becomes more visible.

So let me first reveal the plan of our upcoming journey into “Wonderland”: “Follow the white rabbit!” (movie quote from “Neo” from “Matrix 1”)

We start with the drug “#language”, which first of all requires a clear definition of what “consciousness” is in the first place. Without this linguistic clarification of the terms, I will only be writing past you and we will not be able to create any common “#sense fields” (Markus Gabriel).

The next medicine needed is, of course, “thinking”. Here, however, it is not the general, but in particular the “#philosophy of mind” that is meant. The fact that “#mind” and “#thinking” do not necessarily have to be the same thing should be emphasized here once again.

Finally, the drug “#knowledge” is to be used, so of course we need support from #science. In order to compare the “constructed rabbit hole” a little with “#reality”, empirical data from cognitive #neuroscience may be quite helpful.
