@verdeubled although, as far as the effectiveness of the classroom air purifiers is concerned: https://safeairoregon.org/solutions/pps-got-every-single-high-school-room-airflow-wrong/
Kid is heading to Outdoor School and I'm stressing out about #Covid. They sleep in bunkrooms. Online I found a page about past years' precautions and they fizzled out around 2022, so it seems there is nothing now. Oddly, the handbook Multnomah Educational Service District actually prohibits masks in the shower and overnight (?!) #COVIDcautious I've left a handful of voice-mails. #PortlandPublicSchools #pdx #multnomah #SaltTheVibes
So lovely to see #PortlandPublicSchools feeding their students instead of shaking them down for money.

#Portland Custodians' over-payment for inclement weather duty somehow didn't manage to keep dozens school buildings from having frozen pipes, and literally millions of dollars of damage.
Money we need for a thousand other things in #PortlandPublicSchools
Give the money back, or prove we didn't pay you extra to sit at home while school after school flooded.
@maleve ASHRAE 241 appears to be a very rigorous standard for air safety, that is effectively impossible to know you've implemented without a professional contractor who is already well-versed in it.
In the current climate, we struggle to even get schools to deploy bought-and-paid-for portable filters into classrooms.
Do you think referencing this standard, vs something more high-level like the Lancet report, as a "minimum", could be setting folks up for failure?
SWEET the teachers got a contract AND the superintendent is resigning
Good fucking riddance
Portland parents! Earlier this year, PPS placed an order for additional in-classroom air purifiers, with input from the school communities, from the Oregon Health Authority; at no cost to the district; to help combat poor air quality affecting our children's learning environment.
The air purifiers have arrived at the district office.
And the district has decided not to distribute them to the schools.
