The head of the US base in Greenland was fired after Vance visit.
Colonel Susannah Meyers, who had served as commander of the Pituffik Space Base since July, was removed amid reports that she distanced herself and the base from US Vice President JD Vance's criticism of Denmark and its oversight of the territory.
Following #JDVance's trip, on 31 Mar, Col Meyers is reported to have written: "I do not presume to understand current politics, but what I do know is the concerns of the #US administration discussed by VP Vance on Fri are not reflective of #Pituffik Space Base."
…Appearing to confirm this was the reason for her firing, chief #Pentagon spox linked to the article in a post on X, writing: "Actions [that] undermine the chain of command or to subvert President #Trump's agenda will not be tolerated…."

The Commander of a #US #SpaceForce base in #Greenland has been fired after she sent a base-wide email defending the base’s relationship with #Denmark and #Greenland following #Vance’s visit to the Danish territory that #Trump is seeking to annex.
“Commanders are expected to adhere to the highest standards of conduct, especially as it relates to remaining nonpartisan…,” the statement said.

Let's be clear. #Vance did not visit #Greenland, because he realized he'd be met with protests if he did. He flew to #Pituffik Air Base (which I'm sure he wants to rename back to Thule Air Base, as an insult to the locals), met some US troops stationed there, and slinkered back to DC like the coward he is.
An overwhelming majority of #Greenlanders oppose the idea of #American annexation, a poll indicated in January. #Greenland's prime minister has said the #US visit showed a "lack of respect".
