So many bees getting busy amongst the pink flowers of a gumtree (Corymbia 'Summer Glory').

Another whacky native found in #Australia.

The flowers are a bright, deep red, with a unique shape that resembles a long and slender, leaf-like petal. Each flower has a prominent brown-ish, dark red center, known as the "boss". The flowers grow in clusters of 3 or more on upright stalks, reaching up to 9 cm in length.

The plant is sparse with small, oval green leaves on narrow branches

This guy swooped me from the tree outside my place as I headed out for a walk yesterday. He then perched in the tree ahead watching me, including as I walked around the base of the tree taking a few photos. Cheeky.
