I went back this afternoon via the spot the tiny frogs were this morning and there were two out in the open.
So here's some more Tiny Frog Thursday for you.

It's Tiny Frog Thursday!
(ok I made that up, but it is Thursday and I did find a tiny frog).
Another (maybe the same one) Eastern Dwarf Tree Frog. Spotted this morning sunning itself on a broad blade of grass.
The third photo is an iPhone shot, and includes a tiny grasshopper for scale.
A female Golden Whistler checking me out, as I checked her out, on the driveway at lunchtime today.
Also spotted yesterday were some Cicadabirds (probably female, or maybe juveniles)
I hear these often, but they blend in to the trees so well, I don't often see them.
One of three Fan-tailed Cuckoos that were calling from the front yard just now.
I was out at Cherbourg (Qld, Australia, NOT France) today and found some critters.
Some form of quite pretty skink
A Double-barred Finch
A Brown Honeyeater
An Australian Figbird (female)
Devoted pair of Black Swans abandon their nest after 8 months https://sydneybirder.com/2025/04/10/longest-nest-sitting-ever-black-swans-abandon-nest-after-8-months-part-2-of-story/ #Birds #BirdWatching #WildOz #BirdsOfMastodon
@pissed_eagle mentioned it's Draw a Bird Day, so here is a piece from me. It's from when my wife and I lived in Australia, our early days of birding. I was somewhere without her and saw this brand new, striking bird, so I scribbled it down to share with her. Turns out it was a Pink Cockatoo (also known as Major Mitchell's).
Some birds spotted this morning on campus. A female Australian Wood Duck, pausing mid-preen for a photo; and two Little Corellas on a rock grabbing a drink from the lake.
Award for the best Side-Eye, goes to this little skink I found on the bottom step today.
Seems we have turkey for lunch. It's a little raw. #WildOz #ScrubTurkey
This beautiful lady is Solenopsis invicta. Measuring barely over 2 mm long, she is a member of an incredibly successful species.
Unfortunately, she is far outside her native range, and doing incredible damage to her local ecosystem.
It isn't her fault that she's a fire ant.
How good is nature.

It’s pouring with rain. Several cockatoos line up, clumping together for company in the dismal weather. A raven joins the line-up. What happens next? https://sydneybirder.com/2025/04/03/a-row-of-cockatoos-and-one-raven/ #birds #BirdWatching #WildOz #Australia #BirdsOfMastodon
When I was leaving for work this morning, I noticed our regular Swamp Wallaby in the front yard (who had clearly noticed me too).
She has a joey in her pouch who's clearly getting fairly large.
The weird calls of Noisy Friarbirds. Exciting to see them in Sydney's Northern Beaches! https://sydneybirder.com/2025/04/02/more-noisy-friarbirds-in-sydneys-northern-beaches/ #birds #WildOz #BirdWatching
New Frogs album incoming https://dead-mind.bandcamp.com/album/frogs-a-selection-of-field-recordings Coincidently a connection to #adelaide #wildoz #frogs #herpetology
So many bees getting busy amongst the pink flowers of a gumtree (Corymbia 'Summer Glory').
Another whacky native found in #Australia.

Hump day nature moment. Another whacky native plant - Sturt's Desert Pea.
Stunning. Vibrant. Unusual.
