@barrysampson given the #licensing costs for #ToonBoom, it's good to see their #TechSupport actually invested time and effort.

Most "Professional Software" on #Linux is sometimes really nit easy to procure:

  • #Autodesk literally won't even offer me a #license for #Maya unless I sent them a Serial # of an eligible Workstation (i.e. #HP #Z600 - spec'd to compatibility from the factory) existing & valid #RHEL subscription and would only support that combo with the license...

So it's no wounder those that can't afford it stick to #blender & #Moho like @fuchsiii ...

@hgfernan @textovervideo well, the original poll asked about #2Danimation and both #MohoStudio and #ToonboomHarmony are the prime (abeit #CCSS and not #FLOSS) tools the industry uses.

That being said, a lot of people may be content with #Blender's options as something cheaper (aka. free as in FLOSS) with way more accessible #documentation, #community and support resources.

  • Anyway, it's sad to see both big players don't even support #RHEL or #SLED or #Ubuntu LTS Desktop...
FosstodonTOV (@textovervideo@fosstodon.org)Which 2D animation software do you think is better overall on Linux? #Linux #2D #animation #Glaxnimate #Pencil2D #Synfig #Friction [ ] Glaxnimate [ ] Pencil2D [ ] Synfig Studio [ ] Friction

Looking at this next to my first doodle makes me notice that #Moho chooses to make a blank canvas a yellowish off-white instead of THE BRIGHTEST WHITE POSSIBLE; some further investigation tells me that Moho thinks its canvas is #EAEAEA, and displays it as that in the project settings, but some kind of color management is happening in the main document window and showing up as #F1F2E4.

Searching the manual and internet for "moho color management" brings up nothing so I guess I just gotta live with it for now.
