Mai in Halle 6 Stand J44

Ah yes, code scanners.

~It's not me trying to steal your work and undermine your workers rights you understand. It's the machine that demands it.~ 😉

If my code license offends you, remove my code. I have no business making it popular, only useful under the terms.

🚨 :OSI: The work of @osuosl is at risk as US academic funding faces historic challenges. The Lab hosts infra for over 1000 #FOSS projects, and uses the opportunity to train students in critical #DevOps skills. Nothing comes close to the value that OSL provides the global #OpenSource community.

If you or your employer can help support this critical work, check their website for donation and contact info.

I just switched my phone to #CalyxOS. Anyone out there have any good recommendations for:

- E-reader app? (for sideloaded DRM-free ebooks)
- Audiobook listening app? (ditto for audiobooks)
- Podcast app?
- Music player?

Availability on F-Droid is preferred, but I'm not picky! Anything that works through Aurora is fine. #FOSS #FLOSS

Considering moving away from mastodon.social. Nothing wrong with it but I’d like to be on a smaller server that:
• focuses on #tech and #floss
• bans hate speech (e.g. nazis, fascists…)
• has Markdown support (glitch)
• is located in Europe

Any recommendations?

I would like to upload the code to storyseedlibrary.org/ Solarpunk art library publicly and accept Pull Requests with any suggestions / submissions people have.

The repository is roughly ~200 MB, can grow up to ~500 in the future.

What would be the best platform to do it, balancing Solarpunk's #floss philosophy with user-friendliness?

@osi Your election results are also broken, when will you fix them? The #FLOSS community is asking you to publish the unredacted results, as you have been doing since they started being published. Luminaries within the #FOSS world, previous #OSI directors, members .. have signed the petition, to resounding silence ... #OpenSource #FreeSoftware @ed what are you hiding? Why do you ignore the community?

Fueled by the curiosity that came with switching to Ubuntu, I started learning Python! And today is my very first day.
I built a simple age calculator and a BMI calculator. I’m using ChatGPT for guidance, but I don’t just copy and paste code — it points me in the right direction, and I discover and fix the mistakes myself.

My goal is to create at least two small projects every day this week, and by the weekend, I’ll gather all of them into my very first GitHub repository!

Looks pretty decent actually!

• OSI and FSF approved
• copyleft
• SaaS clause (like the AGPL)
• explicitly compatible with several copyleft licenses to allow EUPL code to be integrated into GPL, AGPL, LGPL, OSL, MPL etc. projects
• based on European law
• available in 23 languages, all with the same validity
