Successful #visibleMending day here! My best little terrierist (Puck) likes to dig when he nests himself into a cozy spot. And his favourite cozy spots are my spots whenever I get up. So my favourite reading chair had the fabric full worn through on the seat. No problem!
I got a scrap of off-white denim in a thrifted fabric bundle recently that wasn’t large enough for anything other than patches. So I cut some random long leaf shapes and sewed them on with a feather stitch using up random colours of thread spools that were nearly empty.
The extra patches that I didn’t need this time, I simply bundled up and tucked them inside the cushion cover* on the underside so they would be available whenever Puck inevitable strikes again.
Voila! Zero waste repair that keeps an otherwise great piece of furniture out of the landfill and uses up scraps that would otherwise be thrown away.
*sofa cushions: not just for hiding pharmaceuticals and funds!
