Working at my desk today without the constant companionship of the granddog. Feels a bit sad to be honest - after having him there for the last 8 days. Some dogs are just perfect* work companions.

*Max is very well trained. I used to tag along to his obedience classes with daughter when he was a pup. Daughter now works from home and granddog understands office rules.

Pup came in to do yoga and got distracted by the birdies (there is a nest just outside the window and sparrows are LOUD).
I said to her today: "So cute and so full of love, you are getting me through this week" before realizing that it's only Monday! Whew!

I have Easter holiday plans. I'm babysitting my daughter's 9 year old blue heeler for 8 or 9 days. He's beautiful and we have always adored each other but this will be the longest he's ever stayed with me. It'll be nice having a beloved dog accompany us on walks again. Last couple of times I looked after him he was post-op and not allowed to walk much.

My favourite puppy command at the moment is "Paws!" - at the back door, it means go sit on your paw towel to dry off your paws, at the front door, it means sit and wait to be carried to the bathroom to wash your paws (after a walk). As we bounce between mud season and winter, it has saved a few paw prints!
