Morgen is er weer een interessante kennissessie ism @opensource en @codefornl in Utrecht.

Tijdens de kennisessie nemen Esmeralda Tijhoff en Bas van der Ven (DICTU Web&App) je mee in hun ervaring met de community rondom het generieke Drupal Intranet. Dit intranet is open source ontwikkeld en wordt binnen de rijksoverheid breed ingezet.

The key point here isn't that there is a policy promoting #Opensource—which is fantastic and has goals and values with which I wholly agree—but rather that the institution has taken the time to develop a policy.

One of the primary responsibilities for academic Open Source Program Offices (#OSPO) is to develop such policies.

I would be very interested in understanding how the need for this policy was identified and how it was developed within the institution.
