The film TÁR is only £2.99 to buy on the UK Apple Store at present.
Me and Carolyn were pushing our toes into the long, meandering stripes of tar you find on the road, but mom caught us at it.
"Don't do that--it's impossible to get that stuff off your feet," she said irritably.
But we didn't stop. It felt so good, soft and warm. We popped the bubbles and painted patterns around our ankles with it, wore it all summer long. Suburban tar.

This is why we need to stop "joking" or talking about Canada becoming part of the US and vice versa
'Not just trolling': Security analyst warns Trump no longer joking about taking Canada
"So I think we are all, in the beginning, thinking about this like this is just kind of the trolling, he's having a little fun, right?" Sanner continued. "But one of the things about President Trump is, when he repeats things over and over and over again, it becomes more real. And I think that in this case, it's not just about negotiating, it's not just about trolling. And I think that absolutely there will be more to come and more pressure. How serious this is is a different matter. But does he actually think it should be true? I think he does. I think he's convincing himself."
AND AMERICANS!

A newly discovered security vulnerability in the Vim text editor, identified as CVE-2025-27423, poses a serious risk for users. This flaw, found in Vim’s (tar.vim plugin), could allow attackers to gain control of a user’s computer if a malicious TAR file is opened.
Vim’s tar.vim plugin is designed to help users view and edit TAR files (a type of compressed archive) directly in the text editor. Unfortunately, a recent update introduced an issue where filenames within these TAR files were not adequately checked or "sanitized." Cybercriminals can exploit this by crafting a specially designed TAR file to execute harmful commands on a victim's computer once the file is opened in Vim.

By then, I was able to track down yet further information on yellowed acrylic and that suggested to me that the yellowing I was seeing was more likely due to the pendant lamp's placement near a #window and #UV source, NOT #cigarette #tar.
Alas, it seems the only scientifically-proven way to remove such yellowing is with a LOT of hydrogen pyroxide and hours (days?) in the sunlight -- something not possible under my living conditions.

The #IKEA #FibreOptic / #FiberOptic pendant lamp I found looked like a typical case of #cigarette #tar.
It looked exactly as though the lamp had hung near someone's favourite chair they used whenever they had a smoke.
The brownish-yellow staining was along the lower side and around some of the edges in exactly the pattern you'd expect from #SecondhandSmoke.

Again, I'm #poor. I live on a provincial #disability pension that hasn't been raised since three governments ago, while the #covid19 #pandemic has literally tripled my food expenses (nvm nearly anything else).
#Secondhand is frequently my first choice, and I'm long accustomed to needing to clean all mannger of stuff from older things, including #cigarette #tar from especially #vintage items.

При работе с tar-ом на сервере (например бэкапы), не забывайте, что этот архиватор может сохранять расширенные атрибуты файлов.
Например вот так:
```sh
# tar --selinux --acls --xattrs -cvf backup.tar /var/www/user/data
```
```sh
# tar --no-acls --no-selinux --no-xattrs -xvf backup.tar
```
Помните об этих параметрах при работе с сервером, где включён selinux.
rsync, также умеет работать с расширенными атрибутами файлов: -A для acl и -X для selinux:
```sh
$ rsync -e ssh -aAXHPv /home/user/web root@server.com:/var/www/user/data/
```
Not that it is very important but I would like to use adb to pull files off my android phone and then have them in a tar archive. That could be done by putting the files somewhere and then making the archive. What would make me feel super cool would be if I could pipe the output of adb pull path/to/folder into tar but I couldn't work out how. There must be a way of doing it, but I am not clever enough to work it out.

In the 1700s, tarring and feathering in colonial America often resulted in painful injuries but was not typically fatal.
The process involved stripping the victim, applying hot pine #tar to their skin, and covering them with #feathers, which caused severe burns and blisters.
Victims could also suffer from infections due to these #burns. Additionally, they were often beaten, whipped, and paraded through town, leading to further physical harm.
