Various astronomers are reporting that a 1-meter asteroid (#CAQTDL2) discovered by the #CatalinaSkySurvey this morning will become a meteor by striking the atmosphere at around 16:39 UTC (12:39am local time) over northern #Luzon island in the #Philippines .

No damage is expected but if there are clear skies tonight (Typhoon #Yagi / #EntengPH is in the area) people can expect to see an impressive fireball.
