@ariarmstrongwriter Still disappointed that #SteveHowe, #ChisSquire, and #AlanWhite found a new singer in 2008 rather than waiting for #JonAnderson to recover from acute respiratory failure, and then did it *again* in 2012 after *that* guy came down with respiratory problems.

Then Squire passed in 2015, leaving us 2001’s “Magnification” as the last studio album with his and Anderson’s vocal harmonies that were absolutely essential to the #Yes sound: songwhip.com/yes/magnification 😒

Today’s listening is ‘Olias Of Sunhillow’, the 1976 album by Jon Anderson.

Jon’s first solo album is exactly that, the whole thing being written, sung and played by him alone.

The ‘concept’, which is elaborately bonkers and VERY Jon Anderson, was inspired by the Roger Dean album covers for Yes (Dean was asked, but did not do the artwork for this album).

This was one of the 5 solo albums recorded by the members of Yes at this time and is the second-best one!

#NowPlaying: #Yes - Close to the Edge
1973 Dutch pressing.

To commemorate the fact that I'll see #JonAnderson live this weekend. Not my favourite album by Yes, overshadowed by Tales and Relayer for me personally. The cover is horrid, the bad kind of minimalism, but the inside of the gatefold is quite nice. The music is iconic though and the title track is brilliant, I really like the bass!
