Is it the time of year, or something else? I came in late to his repertoire, but these live performances pull me in hard when I think of him.
I came to Jeff Beck's music way too late. I always knew of him through reputation, but didn't actually buy/listen to his albums: my loss.
I did discover his music before he died. I think I've done well making up for lost time since his passing.
He and Anthony Bourdain are among the few celebrity artists of my lifetime I genuinely miss, full heart. There will (unfortunately) be more.

I just watched the rockumentary ‘Jeff Beck : Still On The Run’ for the first time. I saw him live three times and each time I walked out wanting to cut my fingers off. He’s gone and I still can’t believe it. Even though I don’t play in his style—who does—he is my guitar hero.
