Is it time to say goodbye to passwords?
"Last year, we observed a staggering 7,000 password attacks per second (more than double the rate from 2023)."
What a convenient coincidence! I'm sure these were unintended consequences
But it’s not all that simple. “Left out of Microsoft’s announcement,” says Ars Technica, “is that even after users create a passkey, they can’t go passwordless until they install the Microsoft Authenticator app on their phone. Microsoft has made Authy, Google Authenticator, and similar apps incompatible, a choice that needlessly inconveniences users and undermines the whole ‘passwordless by default’ marketing message.”
@rvaughnmd I'm feeling better and better about windows 11 being bad enough to move me back to Linux. It's way better than I remember from the aughts (last time I used it as a primary OS)
I mainly scroll the internet and YouTube and do some very mild document/spreadsheet work so #Ubuntu has been working great for me for the last decade or so.
I still have an older Windows laptop for #Zwift, my virtual cycling application because I'm not brave enough to figure out how to get it running on #Linux.
@rvaughnmd @blackcoat you may use a virtual machine to virtualize Windows and go #fullLinux
