#FrancescoFantin was a member of an #anarchist paramilitary group who fought against Mussolini’s fascists. When Mussolini came to power, Fantin fled Italy to work in the Queensland cane-fields. Interned as an ‘enemy alien’ during WW2, he was sent to #Loveday camp in South Australia, where, surrounded by the Italian fascist group within the camp, he met his tragic fate.
