I want to invite people to do #jiujitsu with me but all i can think of are bad pick up lines.
1. Do you know what jiu-jitsu is? Do you want to?
2. Free jiu-jitsu lesson today only!!
(But this sounds like the aggro shirt, if you do x, your first jj lesson is free....)
3. Do you want to go in there & sweat in each others eyeballs for about 45 min?

And this is why i don't talk! Or do marketing.

...because they want to?

6/6 But bottom line- I do marital arts for fun and a bit of fitness. It doesn't mean I'm not serious, focused and technical! I just want to do this as long as i can and bring as many along as want to come along. Compete! Don't compete! Come train:)

1/6 I'm a black belt and have never competed. It's something I feel self-conscious about on occasion. I have this sneaking suspicion sometimes that not competing hurts my credibility as a black belt or meant wearing previous belts I'm not as good as others of my rank. We shouldn't feel that way though!

So why do I feel this way?

She's A Knockout is a fast paced, brief introduction to the history of women's fighting sports. Jennings uses mini biographies and interesting anecdotes to highlight main characters throughout the evolution of women's professional fighting sports. Although only covering the Western world, the stories are chosen to represent the progress and backlash, periods of history from the Victorian era to the present, as well as struggles in race, class, and gender.

I apologized too much. Or idk-i agonize about how that looks. I was late today, so I feel like they were legit owed that one. (Sorry. Lol.) A few of my marital arts friends encourage me (maybe jokingly? that's mostly how I'm taking it?) to never apologize. They say-if you make a mistake in technique, add a detail or use language like that. I tend to just say sorry, let's do it like this, my mistake.

Quote about women in #fightingsports:

"In addition, the Supreme Court, which consisted entirely of men, decided that it needed to uphold laws protecting public health and morality, as well as the rights of men to stop the "ever-increasing feminine encroachment upon what for ages had been considered strictly as manly arts and priveliges." "

(Manly arts and priveliges, lol.)
