Passive smoking leads to ~10,700 early deaths per year in the UK. So I think that measures to prevent people who do not smoke being exposed are called for.
But traffic pollution leads to over four times the early deaths from passive smoking (~48,625 early deaths per year in the UK). Surely reducing this should be greater priority?

I never smoked a single cigarette, but still developed cancer, probably due to #passivesmoking. Having half a lung removed because others smoke is a hell of a punishment.

There are some stories in todays newspapers about the problem of #smoking on apartment balconies.... The strata building that is being reported about does not have a smoking by-law (which most other apartment buildings do), and the owners of that building refused to implement one, which caused the owner suffering from second-hand cigarette smoke to go to the Tribunal under the general provisions in the Strata Act that prevent harmful activities...
Most strata buildings do have a by-law that controls smoke drift from balconies - and generally residents need to prevent this occurring.
