#NewPenDay I was phenomenally lucky & won the @penaddict members giveaway for last month. I had never wanted to win a giveaway more than this one, as the Mermaid Tears material on this Carolina Pen Co. Charleston made for the Cali Pen Show is absolutely gorgeous! Thank you once again to Brad for such a beautiful pen, as well as the Rickshaw sleeve & Nock co Hightower. I can still barely believe I won it! 😍

We ordered a fountain pen and some inks and they arrived today

We bought a TWSBI Eco with a medium nib, a bottle of Dominant Industry Leaf Green and one of Diamine Ancient copper that we haven't tried yet because all our pens are inked

I love it, it's so smooth, and there's so much shading with this ink

Not sure how well the colors look like they do in the picture, though.

Picture of the "twisbi" eco. The cap and the other end are green, the nib and the clip are black, and most of the pen is transparent, so we can see the ink inside.
Writing sample with the Dominant Industry Leaf Green ink (with the name of the pen and of the ink, an English pangram, and a French one). There is a moderate-to-high amount of shading (probably, we're still new to fountain pens), meaning that the dark parts of the word (where there was more ink) is much darker than the light parts. The ink is overall dark green.

#NewPenDay #fountainpen Monteverde Dakota. a tribute to the WWII cargo plane, the C-47 Dakota (or Skytrain). this variant is in a Olive Drab with invasion stripes, the scheme the C-47s carried while dropping paratroopers in Normandy during D-day. JoWo steel nib, international standard cartridge/converter. styling resembles a Pilot E95s (long cap), slightly longer and metal bodied so a bit heavier.

#newPenDay got a new TWSBI in: an Eco in Indigo Blue Bronze, Medium nib. here it is with my 580 (1.1mm stub nib).

inked with my wife's pick of color, Private Reserve Black Cherry - got it as a freebie at some point.

even she, a non fountain pen user, was impressed by the smoothness of the nib
