This is interesting.

“Meaning  Individuals receiving methadone had a lower risk of treatment discontinuation compared with those who received buprenorphine/naloxone. The risk of mortality while receiving treatment was similar between medications.”

Back when I took Suboxone because my doctor told me that would help me not get withdrawals coming off years of pain pills (lol lies) they were publishing studies about using methadone for pain and those studies showed that the overdose risk was high because it was hard to dose methadone for pain.

I know these are completely different problems. It’s just interesting to see the recommendations go back and forth over the years.
