Researchers at Melbourne's RMIT University and the University of Melbourne found artists were among some of Australia's worst-paid workers, earning an average income of $13,937 from their arts practice.
The national #minimumwage is $915.90 a week, or an annual salary of about $47,500.
The Basic Income for the Arts Pilot Petition has been live for just over two weeks and has nearly 6800 signatures. This campaign is not just for artists and arts workers - but for anyone who values the arts in their daily lives.
