For the #RuinOfTheDay: the famous Castellum divisorium of Nîmes. This water tank was the end of the aqueduct that carried water to the Roman colony of Nemausus, via the Pont du Gard. After travelling 50 km, the water was distributed by ten lead pipes to various parts of the city. me

For the #RuinOfTheDay: the fontain of #Claudius in Lyon, roman Lugdunum. This fountain was discovered in 1983 in Fourvière, at a crossroads of ancient streets. The pillar is topped by a capital bearing the letters CLAVD(ius) AVG(ustus).
Emperor Claudius was born in Lyon in 10 BC, and the fountain probably dates from the emperor's stay in his home town on his way to or from his expedition to Britain in 43 AD.

For the #RuinOfTheDay: the Roman bridge in Vaison-la-Romaine, France. Built in the 1st c. AD it spans the Ouvèze river linking the city center to the medieval upper town. The bridge is still in use, and has survived severe flooding that swept away some more recent bridges.
