This isn't a flaw. It's precisely why it's fun. The whole game is putting pieces on the board, and it needs to matter how you do that. Having the different effects multiply together guarantees the optimal solution will always involve a wide variety pieces. I've been trying to gradually push up the amount of optimization required to pass as the levels progress, but I seem to have overshot this time. Just gotta tweak some numbers, and playtest again tomorrow. #PortalFoxesTD
In #PortalFoxesTD if a firefox does 1 damage per tile, then if all 5 range hits that's 5. If you give it glasses and line up the increased range it's 7. Add a sword, 10.5. Add wind fox, 15, give the wind glasses, 18. Add an earth fox with a sword and its 36. That's why balancing these end-game levels is so difficult. I have to draw a hard line with the enemy health, but the difference between an okay strategy and a great strategy can be huge. #gamedev
