Hard to believe Santa Clara didn't already have a Micro Center store. 3 decent man-on-the-street Linux advocates interviewed.

I Tried To Find Linux Users At Micro Center

At the opening of the Santa Clara Micro Center Adam went around asking people if they were Linux users to answer the question: is 2025 (finally) the year of Linux?

Reading a November 2001 issue of #PCWorld discussing the upgrade experience for #Windows XP and its surprising reviewers back then were recommending only PC's less than 2 years old should upgrade. Yet, #Windows11 supports some 7th generation processors which date back to 9 years ago. Say what you will, but I think #Microsoft's compatibility cut off in 2025 is somewhat reasonable. But the issue is, PC's last longer and requirements for #Windows10 are the same as #WindowsVista 18 years ago.

@Edent @neil @tommorris Good to see such things interest some people. The surrender/deference without question mentality seems an all too common default.

I regularly get into it with certain stores which want my phone number (and, preferably, email and post code) "for warranty purposes". I refuse and then a manager has to be summoned to unlock the point of sale device. #HarveyNorman #PCWorld #Currys all at it. Most people just hand over data w no clue how it will be used.

#Windows10 was supposed to be the last, and after it there is 11 and as you can see there will also be 12... It promises to be more cloud solutions and based on #AI and in my opinion it can cause an outflow of users, not an increase in their number as some predict.
