I really love the Muppets and right now I am in the middle of watching a series called 'The Muppets Mayhem', about the music group Dr. Teeth & the Electric Mayhem, and they explain the origin of Animal. There was a knock on the door of the house the band lived in and Floyd Pepper answered it on their front stoop someone had left baby Animal. And they took him inside and adopted him
