Adam Johnson's guide to the "Something must be done" genre of reactionary screed (like #Moritz just wrote, about SF, in the NYT):

1. Hook the reader by describing real problems and frustrations, then pivot to dehumanizing language
2. Blame the city for being a far-left bastion, despite this being untrue
3. Demand leaders get tough by doing things they're already doing
4. Avoid social solutions in favor of political criticism
