Erik Ellestad<p>Zhenghe Red from White2Tea is a Fujian tea. It is a black tea made from a varietal usually used for Fujian white tea, "Zhenghe Dabai". Darker herbaceous and fruit flavors, more raisins than stonefruit.</p><p><a href="https://sfba.social/tags/BlackTea" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>BlackTea</span></a> <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/HongCha" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>HongCha</span></a> <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/White2Tea" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>White2Tea</span></a> <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/Tea" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Tea</span></a> <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/Cha" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Cha</span></a> <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/DailyTea" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DailyTea</span></a> <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://a.gup.pe/u/tea" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>tea</span></a></span></p>
Erik Ellestad<p>There are advantages to compulsively including additional bags of tea you enjoy in orders. For example while everyone else complained to White2Tea about them not making Daily Jinjunmei black tea last year, I could quietly drink down my 4 bags (and distribute some to friends)...</p><p><a href="https://sfba.social/tags/BlackTea" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>BlackTea</span></a> <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/HongCha" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>HongCha</span></a> <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/White2Tea" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>White2Tea</span></a> <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/Tea" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Tea</span></a> <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/Cha" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Cha</span></a> <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/DailyTea" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DailyTea</span></a> <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://a.gup.pe/u/tea" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>tea</span></a></span></p>
Erik Ellestad<p>Since I always say White2Tea's Arbor Red is black tea for puerh drinkers, I was curious to see how Arbor Red would react to brewing in Jiri Duchek Rye stoneware, instead of the usual ruyao gaiwan, would affect the tea. (I usually only brew young raw puerh in Duchek Rye stoneware.) My initial impression is it makes a huge difference, smoothing the rough edges of the tea. Maybe a little too much?</p><p><a href="https://sfba.social/tags/BlackTea" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>BlackTea</span></a> <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/HongCha" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>HongCha</span></a> <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/ShaiHong" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ShaiHong</span></a> <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/White2Tea" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>White2Tea</span></a> <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/Tea" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Tea</span></a> <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/Cha" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Cha</span></a> <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/DailyTea" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DailyTea</span></a> <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/NoKings" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>NoKings</span></a> <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://a.gup.pe/u/tea" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>tea</span></a></span></p>
Erik Ellestad<p>My wife is out of town, so I can enjoy this burly black tea from White2Tea on Saturday morning. 2018 Arbor Red is a bit smoky, a bit bitter, touch of returning sweetness; definitely a black tea for people who enjoy aggressive raw puerh.</p><p><a href="https://sfba.social/tags/BlackTea" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>BlackTea</span></a> <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/HongCha" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>HongCha</span></a> <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/ShaiHong" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ShaiHong</span></a> <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/White2Tea" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>White2Tea</span></a> <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/Tea" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Tea</span></a> <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/Cha" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Cha</span></a> <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/DailyTea" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DailyTea</span></a> <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://a.gup.pe/u/tea" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>tea</span></a></span></p>
Erik Ellestad<p>Xizihao Daughter mostly sells raw puerh, but they also sell ripened puerh and the odd Black tea batch. I don't know much about this 2022 "Wild Black" other than it is from "Unmanaged Gardens" somewhere in Vietnam. It has the fruity character I associate with Yunnan sun dried black tea and good durability/length of flavor. Erik Ellestad<p>Jinjunmei black tea was initially created as a premium bud only tea from a limited geographic region in Fujian targeted at the luxury tea market. A lot of producers now make Jinjunmei-like teas sourced from other regions and with less exacting pick standards. White2Tea's "Daily Jinjunmei" is one of those (though it is from roughly the same region as "real" jinjunmei). Dark stonefruit, herbs, and brown sugar are my tasting notes for Daily Jinjunmei from White2Tea.</p><p><a href="https://sfba.social/tags/BlackTea" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>BlackTea</span></a> <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/HongCha" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>HongCha</span></a> <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/White2Tea" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>White2Tea</span></a> <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/Tea" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Tea</span></a> <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/Cha" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Cha</span></a> <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/DailyTea" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DailyTea</span></a> <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://a.gup.pe/u/tea" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>tea</span></a></span></p>
