At #COP28, the world needs to come together and agree to drastically reduce emissions.

✔️ We’re pushing for climate ambition, finance, and global energy goals, including:
☀️ tripling global renewable energy capacity by 2030,
⛽ agreeing on phasing out unabated fossil fuels,
⛽ ensuring the fossil fuel consumption peaks ahead of 2030,

The first slide is titled, “Limiting the temperature rise to 1.5 degrees is critical.# It shows a polar bear on a small iceberg and a graph showing Copernicus data on daily global surface air temperature anomalies. The graph highlights the rising temperatures over the years and is shows the temperatures going beyond the 1.5 degrees threshold for the first time this November.
The 2nd slide is titled, “Because above 1.5 degrees, everything changes: more extreme weather, impacts on water availability, food insecurity. It also shows a graph of the rise in global mean sea levels highlighting that they have risen +72 millimeters since 2002. The visual also shows a sofa and a lamp half-drowned in water.
The 3rd slide talks about the EU leading the green transition. It shows a graph using one of the blades of a wind turbine as the Y-axis and reflects the EU goal to cut emissions by 57% by 2030.
The 4th slide says that the EU emits only 7% of global greenhouse emissions, so the world must reduce emissions steadily and move to net-zero by 2050.
