Wow, at least it's not just Calmac that are completely rubbish. It does make you wonder why skilled manufacturing like ferries is consistently behind and over-budget.
There's a slight irony that a Ferguson was involved with the Tasmanian ferries. Seems like a surname one should keep away from ferrying.
Both the ferry company TT-Line and ports firm TasPorts are state-owned, and in August the infrastructure minister, Michael Ferguson, and TT-line chairman, Mike Grainger, both resigned.

#Oban to #Craignure on the Isle of #Mull and back, with #CalMac’s MV #Coruisk, built in 2003. On our way we pass the lovely MV Hebridean Princess, lying in port: this is the former MV Columba, a car ferry built in 1964 and transformed into a cruise ship since.
Good morning from #Ardrossan Harbour. This is the terminus station for the #ScotRail service from #Glasgow Central.
The lovely MV Isle Of Arran #CalMac ferry, built in the 1980s, makes the connection to #Arran Island.
