So sad to read. Such a multifactorial problem. No easy solutions. #NHS #ukpolitics
Number of people waiting to start routine hospital treatment in England at record high
> The NHS says strikes have had a considerable impact on elective appointments and procedures, saying about 778,000 hospital appointments have been rescheduled.
@gpollara
Considerable but likely miniscule compared to the effect of Tory.
The government have the ability but lack the will to correct this.
@XraySonoCol yes but what I meant was, imagine you had a new government and limitless funds, that still won't solve easily issues around staff shortages, retention, working on massive backlog etc... (would help but still tough. No overnight fix)
@gpollara Agreed. A more rapid fix could be to extend hours ppl on specialist visas are permitted to work and further widen the criteria allowing staff from overseas to work. It is absolutely a massive task to undo 13 years of Tory.

Infuriating, although I had heard that Covid Bereaved Families for Justice had published their own report. https://threadreaderapp.com/user/CovidJusticeUK
