Kemi Badenoch—the new leader of the Conservative party—is a woman of colour.
But she's also:

— denies institutional racism exists
— a militant transphobe who wants to strip transgender people of civil rights
— believes the British Empire was beneficial to its colonies

— Prejudiced against autism
... She's the most right-wing leader the party's ever had.
(She's the anti-Kamala Harris.)
@cstross don't agree with that last line - Harris is still tied to the system of US policing, which is in no way progressive, and entirely unlikely to change her stance on Israeli occupation and violence (tho I'd love to be surprised).
America doesn't really have a functional Left, certainly not in Democratic leadership.
But yeah, Badenoch can get in the bin.
@noodlemaz Bear in mind that the UK no longer has a functioning Left. (Jeremy Corbyn was to the right of Michael Foot, and look what they did to him.)
