Reasons masks should be required in healthcare, always.
Also reasons people should mask in schools, workplaces, grocery stores, banks, on planes, trains, buses. You don’t know who is sick, you don’t know who is immunocompromised, you don’t know who will end up with long-COVID.
@nilikm
P.s. Also it translates to "Sick House" for good reason peeps,wear a mask .
@nilikm
Wearing #FFP3 #masks is my way of caring and showing #respect for myself and others. I‘ll carry on with that.
To date, I have not had #Covid-19, #Influenza or #Colds since the start of the #Pandemic (but I am also #Vaccinated several times w/ #BionNTech and get my annual influenza jab on time).
@PapyrophagaSc @nilikm Sounds like you don't have a preschooler! Even with pretty good masking on their part, they still somehow bring home preschool crud because they're always sticky.
@AGTMADCAT @PapyrophagaSc as a family physician with three children, I’m aware. Which is why the adults around them need to do what they can.
@nilikm @PapyrophagaSc Absolutely, no disagreement at all.
I visited a gp last week. No mask.
They don't consider the minor chance that they could seriously damage someone enough to mask for 15 minutes while getting very well paid to do so.
Tbh I think a high percentage of doctors are not in medicine for the right reasons.
I'm sure it's very common for patients to die of misdiagnosis caused by the GP Doctor's own personality defects like arrogance and carelessness.
@BerelYoudovich @nilikm That...does not read as a very good trade-off.
@BerelYoudovich @nilikm Check these out for doctor’s appointments where you can’t have metal https://readimask.com/ #maskup .
Sorry you had to go through that though, very unsettling I’m sure. Fingers crossed you managed to avoid #covid
good post. i've posted their link elsewhere as that's the one I found after finally learning the term to google "MRI-safe". Had a pinched nerve. The MRI people told me a cloth mask would be acceptable, and I'm like, as what, voodoo?
3+ years into pandemic and the US best health care in the world MRI facility still doesn't have info at the ready for patients on how to be imaged safely.
@nilikm I completely agree with this, but im curious what your thoughts are on Britain's policy on "living with Covid" (I actually live in the UK)
I also happen to be a 36 year old with Severe Asthma and Excessive Dynamic Airway Collapse
@nilikm thank you. I've never had covid and always worn a mask since March of 2020. And now I will be around a person getting a bone marrow transplant, so will continue. Pretty sad to have to protect myself from my dr.
@nilikm "you don’t know who will end up with long-COVID."
Added fun fact: it could easily be you, that "invulnerable" person who thinks it's only other people who have to worry. Until it isn't.
