Wildfires across Canada are causing smoke to spread across North America, as far as Florida. A reminder that particulates in wildfire smoke can cause short- and long-term health issues. An excellent way to protect yourself is to wear a well-fitting mask like an N95.

@luckytran You cam also follow this bot to get smoke forecast updates every three hours.

@luckytran Just flew from Charlotte to Los Angeles yesterday. Quite a strange sight from directly above it. Thinking all of that in one's lungs is a terrifying sight.

@luckytran No tariffs for the particles, your welcome.

@luckytran Every article lately is headlined to make it sound like neighbours complaining about the smoke, from the house on fire next door.

@luckytran okay is it just me or is that CLEARLY a dragon breathing greeny-blue fire fire at the Dakotas and Nebraska?

@luckytran

Is all this Canadian soot, ash and smoke tariff free?

@luckytran Interesting that fires in Minnesota, Illinois, etc are passed over.

@luckytran Driving truck through smoke, I wet a clean t-shirt in water and tied it around my head to cover my mouth. Filtered air.

@luckytran
Yes! And a smoke grade air filter in your home goes a long way. You don't have to buy a whole new air purifier, just run your AC through an air filter with MERV at least 11, though 13 is better.

Here is an example of a smoke grade filter. You just open up your HVAC, see what size filter it uses, and when you install the new one make sure the arrow on the side is going in the direction of air flow.

It makes a huge difference.

@luckytran Yeah, we’re in Illinois and it’s not fun. I never go out without a mask and the air purifiers are working overtime.
