The preliminary budget draft proposes the creation of a new agency called the “Administration for a Healthy America,” which would give RFK Jr even more power and resources to pursue quack treatments and conspiracy theories.

@mwyman @luckytran Kennedy has actively promoted "wellness camps". People with ADHD, depression and other chronic conditions would volunteer for "reparenting". Creepy.

I am like 90% sure putting the money into active transportation and changing zoning codes to make walking and biking more enjoyable than driving would make huge improvements to america's baseline health.
Also nationalized non-profit healthcare. that'd help too.
@luckytran But... We've got really smart people... They know there might be a temporary bump in the road by doing this, in the end it will weed out all the people who aren't already healthy, and only the healthy will survive. Evolutionary healthcare right? (Certainly seen arguments that look shockingly close to that... I'm not at all making them myself, but pointing out what dumbfuckery you might run into...)
@luckytran They are clearly anti-science and pro conspiracy theory. RFK still thinks there's an environmental cause of autism despite it being proven false and posted on the NIH site for YEARS as a function of poor health conditions for women.

@luckytran And there is no plan to cut taxes interestingly. NOT that I am advocating for cutting taxes, I have no problem paying mine and believe billionaires should not exist. But who is asking, where is all this money going that has already and will be cut?

@luckytran From my position in America, dependant on Social Security to cover my basic needs... HHS needs MORE funding into it, as it is terrible and decrepit as-is. with catastropic clerical errors that took away my medical coverage, to 2 hour waits in facilities to be seen by HHS workers, to years to over a decade to recieve vital supports for basic living.
Cuts can cause more suffering in addition to the suffering that already exists.
I'm beyond angry at their disregard for human wellbeing.
