There are two temperatures where the number of days at that temperature is higher than the number of days at surrounding temperatures.

Ah, it's hard to see on the ones further back but you can tell the distribution is not exactly smooth even if they are not double peaked.
Greater variance in weather is also a prediction of climate change experts, & I expect the double peak is just an artifact of the randomness that is more visible in the distributions that are more spread out.
