@SandHillThicket had to do my first "merge" of two hives this month. One hive didn't have a queen anymore (we kept giving them uncapped brood frames to hope they made queen cells but they didn't). So we gave up and merged it into an existing hive. Seemed to have gone smoothly. So that's nice
@thibaultmol I am so conflicted on what to do because we keep seeing a few larva and/or a few capped brood each inspection, but we never see a queen. It's been really hot, so I'm wondering if this virgin queen is just struggling to get going or if she left recently with a follow on swarm. It's been 60+ days since we caught the original swarm...
@SandHillThicket 60 days?! oh boy.
My start of using uncapped brood from one hive and putting it in the queenless hive didn't work... so I dunno what solution could work for you besides just buying a queen from a fellow beekeeper I guess?
Might want to get on that, cause # Winter is coming xd
