My advice of the day…

Please don’t get again & again.

I have patients with who tell me that reinfection made them worse.
First bout ➡️ POTS & some fatigue.
Second bout ➡️ ME/CFS.

@MVGutierrezMD I didn't have cardiac issues until the second bout. After the third, I have to have groceries delivered because I just can't do the stairs anymore. And I was an archaeologist before this.

@MVGutierrezMD @BobLefridge this is my fear tbh. I have 1, and it borders on 2 when I flare.

@MVGutierrezMD

I’d love to take that advice onboard but as a frontline worker I’ve already caught CV19 four times already. I’m fully aware that the vaccines have helped but I’m more, than likely, to catch again and again

@MVGutierrezMD What really makes me nervous is how many don't know the danger at all and really believe it's like a cold and they're protected by vaccinations or previous infections. This is simply a fairy tale and every infection leaves its mark until our body/organs are so badly damaged that a normal life is no longer possible. COVID-19 is not a respiratory disease, but a disease that affects many organs.

@MVGutierrezMD I'm pretty sure I had Covid in March 2020, when CDC was telling us not to mask, but no tests were available. Omicron caught me in June this year. I think I'm in POTS & some fatigue mode. Trying not to get it again.

Repeated exposures increase representation of Membrane antibodies. These antibodies should guide C3 convertase assembly on the lipid membrane portion of the viral envelope. That's unwanted as C3 convertases beget C5 convertases which beget Membrane Attack Complexes which cause the proteins comprising the envelope--E,S,M--to disassociate somewhat by poking holes in the lipid membrane, spilling the internal contents into the ECF, provoking additional inflammatory processes.

@MVGutierrezMD My wife and I just got the latest Booster today! She and I have been mindful and careful in our activities, masking and such since day 1. We have still not contracted. In my line of work, I am frequently PCR tested so I have the receipts to prove it!

@MVGutierrezMD if only there were simple ways to prevent that... wait, there are, but it's all dependent on other people doing the right thing (while being bombarded with the message that they don't need to)
