#Vaccines are rad as hell. You should get them. All of them. Not only to protect yourself from awfulness but to protect folks around you from even more awful shit if they can’t get vaccinated yet like, you know, measles which infants can’t be vaccinated for until they are 1 and can be very serious.
@MCBazacoPhD Doc, I'm concerned as an oldster that my measles vaccine needs to be updated. Can you point to any information about folks who may need theirs updated -- if I received mine before 1970, for example, am I still protected?
Thanks!
@femme_mal Talk to your doctor but here is some guidance. Generally you wouldn’t need one.
@MCBazacoPhD Thanks very much for that helpful link. Based on the paragraph following the one highlighted, I need to ask for my vaccination record because I received the measles vaccine before 1963 and I don't know if I received a killed or live attenuated measles vaccine.
I'd rather not talk to my doctor until I'm ready for the booster since I have to pay for it out of pocket thanks to the crappy U.S. health care system. But I think my doctor's office will give me my vax record w/o charge.
