Imagine if instead of making COVID isolation guidelines as weak as the flu...
We approved combo rapid tests like this and made them free and available for everyone...
So that people could tell how long they need to isolate based on science and not feelings, whatever the pathogen.
@LizLemon@med-mastodon.com@luckytran It's so incredible that the Delta Airlines 5-day isolation proposal actually included a negative test to exit isolation. But the CDC dropped that part most likely because there was a shortage of rapid tests around that time. They easily could add a negative test to exit isolation now. I still can't get over the fact that if you are asymptomatic you do not have to do *anything.*. No one-day isolation. No masking for 5 days. I've read and re-read the guidelines and there's zip.
