The female Hairy-footed Flower Bees arrive on the scene a little later than the males and look very different. They are like a jet black bumblebee. The sturdy snout is very clear here. They were busy with comfrey so their pollen brushes were brilliant white.

The sarvis berries are mostly full bloom now.

As well as the wood anemones, the Lesser Celandine is in full bloom at Loch Libo nature reserve here in my part of #Scotland.

08/04/2025 - Evening walk after work. Not far tonight as I was tired. Just took the glass to the bottle bank. The side of the pavement was full of whitlowgrass and field horsetail was starting to show. My eye was drawn to a tiny bit of blue amongst all the greens. A single early forget-me-not in flower, just magic.

Tiny blue flowers of early forget-me-not. I'm not great with these but I think these are early and not field. White flowers of whitlowgrass behind.
